The movie gave me many new insights into the library profession. As I don’t have a background in the field like so many in the class have due to their work experience in the field, the movie was generally very helpful and informative. I also found the movie funny and liked that it moved at a quick pace. I believe that it was made in such a way that a wide audience would enjoy it.

Comment by John Schu October 2, 2007 @ 5:22 pmWhen they were showing images of burning books from the different movies I was wondering where was the scene from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where all of the people are throwing the books onto the fire with the celebration going on around it.
Comment by Joe October 3, 2007 @ 6:49 pmi think the film could have benefitted from seidl’s using the film clips a bit more economically. the desk set is a great film, but i don’t believe it necessitated multiple clips, whereas the clip to which joe is referring would have added emphasis to the inherent dangers of book banning (and burning).
